Last January, I volunteered for the very first time at the Welcome Hall Mission and it was crystal clear in my mind that I would go back whenever I had a chance. Therefore, during the March break, I decided to go back, this time alongside my friends Ophélie and Natacha from the Honours Program. This time, instead of distributing food to the clients of the Welcome Hall Market as I had previously done, we sorted food that would later be redistributed to those in need. Therefore, for 4h30, we sorted huge onion bags into smaller ones and made sure that the vegetables which would be offered to the clients were of quality. Once again, this was a truly meaningful volunteering experience, as the issue of food insecurity is of particular concern to me and it felt rewarding to be a part of this vital community organization. Every time I go there, the people are so nice and time goes by so fast, so it is certainly not the last time that I will be volunteering there!
