This year, I had the honour to lead the largest delegation in the history of Collégial Sainte-Anne to a Model UN conference as president of this committee. Surrounded by 12 students, we all proudly represented our CEGEP throughout these 4 days of debates, negotiations, writing and speeches.

For my part, I played the role of Valentin Segura, a Chilean military officer, in the crisis committee that simulated Michelle Bachelet's ministerial cabinet in 2006, when she was the first woman elected as president of Chile. To be completely transparent, this committee was far from my favorite, and I had more difficulty carving out my place on the committee than usual, so it was a weekend full of challenges I had to overcome.

Despite all this, I have no regrets about my participation because I firmly believe that every experience, whether it's the best or the worst, teaches us something about ourselves and makes us grow. Sometimes, knowing what you don't like is just as valuable as knowing what you do like. And it's only by trying it that we can find out for sure.

Throughout the weekend, I was also so proud to see so many students from Sainte-Anne taking part in the conference and getting involved. This was a first conference for many delegates and I could not be prouder and more grateful for their commitment towards this committee.

This committee is surely unfolding into something beautiful!
